Volcanic ash cloud and Hiscox travel cover
 
If tour operators and flight carriers are not meeting the costs, Hiscox will consider all reasonable extra travel and accommodation expenses for your clients to return home. In addition, amounts they have paid or legally have to pay and which cannot be recovered for their own unused travel, accommodation and prebooked excursions will also be taken into consideration. 
 
Claims as a result of the volcanic ash cloud are not usually covered by the Hiscox travel insurance policy, however we acknowledge that these are unusual circumstances. Therefore, on this occasion, Hiscox has taken the decision to cover the above costs.  Please note that this only applies for clients who have a valid travel policy with us.
