We know how frustrating it can be to have to repeat yourself to different people every time you call, so if your client’s claim cannot be settled immediately, you will be allocated a dedicated Claims Underwriter who will take you through the claims process and handle the claim to conclusion.
UK based specialised claims teams
All our claims teams are based in the UK and we have teams located in Colchester, London, Leeds and Glasgow. Individual claims handlers are grouped into specialist product teams, ensuring that your client’s claim is handled by experts in that area; whether that be high net worth, commercial, emerging and traditional professions, financial services, construction, technology, media and telecoms…the list goes on. We work closely with our underwriters to ensure continuity of approach in working on renewals and in discussing trends and risk management issues.
These centres of product expertise are reinforced by Hiscox’s training programme which ensures its claims professionals are always up to speed in their specific sector. In turn, relationships with external advisers such as solicitors, accountants and loss adjusters are developed through joint workshops to ensure the Hiscox claims philosophy is consistent throughout.
Professionalism and experience are key – over 95% of our claims team are qualified (or in the process of obtaining qualifications) in insurance, law or loss adjusting.

In difficult times, Hiscox works hard to act as your client’s advocate whether through support in tricky legal situations, by campaigning to reduce litigation costs, protect the right of free speech or by helping to protect your client’s reputation.
